They are longer than Lacrete, but that's one of the reasons I buy them. I think they burn longer than the small pieces of Lacrete.
I've been burning Vandy's the last few years and I've never noticed that they were overly long. They burn just fine in my stove.
It sounds like all it does is shut the distribution blower down .
