Get on Facebook Garage sale sites in your area and put an ad saying you will clean up downed trees for the wood. I've done it and got many loads...

I liked the cherry but the wife thought it was too strong. Might grab some maple next time but for ribs always hickory/Apple.
White oak. I've used cherry but it was overpowering so I substitute oak. Just grab from my stacks and take em to the miter saw and let the smoking...
