I didn’t notice it when I pulled the cylinder but I don’t think there was a gasket between it and the case.
I have the same splitter, very happy with it.
I think I had it pretty rich trying to straighten the idle up. The film of oil on the bottom of the piston felt thinner than bar oil to me.
So almost 4 months later... I’ve got the jug off, still haven’t ordered a flywheel puller or case splitter though. I may order that this weekend....
I would look into used pro saws like the 026, 260, 261 if you wanna stay with .325. The 036, 360, 361, 362 are great too but they run 3/8 b&c.
