That's why I keep my 61 with an 18 on it and have yet to buy a big saw. That and the cost.
Well you all weren't lying when you said it splits easy, even with a maul it pops right apart. I'd say it's easier to split than red maple.
It's definitely beech, trees growing from roots, the disease, and it's got nuts on just about every branch.
Well right now it's suffering from being turned into firewood disease.  But now that you mention it I can see quite a few babies along...
I run an 18 on my 61 and I'm nervous about that.o_O
Loving that Husqvarna.
It's only about 25 feet into my wood lot from the tree line, surrounded completely by hemlocks, so in comparison it's like gold.

Just glad it's not Aspen. It smells sort of minty but it's not an overpowering smell like when I cut cherry. And if it's American Beech that's not...
I was thinking black birch personally. Aspen leaves seem to be shorter and more rounded while this tree has a more pointed oval shape. Not to...
Red maple dries pretty quickly so if it was dead standing you should be good to go. Great wood to mix in with some harder stuff, I like it as it...
I definitely see white elm in there. Good stuff all around, and free!
Knocked down this tree and I'm not 100% sure what it is. Started limbing and I'm sure it's not a maple. I don't think it's ash, but I can't say...
