All the Hedge I’ve came across looks like a yellow highlighter split. And it has a milky sticky sap
Hard pass for me
Guessing Cottonwood

26f Sugar Maple
We got 9” Saturday into Sunday. I hate the stuff. Take it all, please
o_O Thankfully all the Honey Locust I get is the thornless variety.
Bark does look thick, and the split wood has a olive hue to it is why I thought Black Locust. That bottom unsplit round does have a greenish bark...
yeah, I'm thinking you may be right Eric. It does look like Mulberry. A better bark pic would verify
Looks like Black Locust. Both flavors are great
These things are great. Clean, easy, compact, cheap.
I love Hackberry. It's a wood that needs to be split asap or it rots in the round quick, but burns hot and just as long as Cherry
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve always used Supercedars, but after the last box that had 3”+ of crumbs, I’ll give them a try
Wow.. I’m a Locust lover, but I just burned some Sugar Maple last night and holy smokes. Hot! Hot! Hot! I knew it would burn good after...
Love me some Mulberry
4 hrs in and I’m at 149f. For sure not taking 6-7 hrs.
Ok. Thanks. I’ve got a probe in it. Will be paying close attention
What size bird? I’m using same smoker; 12 lb bird, says 6-7 hrs at 250f
Went with Pecan. Seems to be the best for everything I’ve smoked yet
Smoking one for 1st time today. So, Cherry, Apple or Pecan chips?
