So true. Sub, are you getting involved in any spring or early bird sales?

Got after the new control panel with a vengeance today...
Waiting on two resistors for the heat control assembly, but they are an easy couple minutes to slip in and snug the screws down
I needed a 1 megohm and an 820K ohm resistor for the #1 and # 2 heat positions.
I had ordered 1/2 watt parts and the clown sent me 1/8th watt...
I had not opened the package until today as I was not ready for them..... arrrrrrgh :picard:

    Only about $4...oh well..

Otherwise it's ready to plug in the test motors and let it rip....

True, just big 200-250 lb black bear. As long as not dealing with momma bear and cubs, they are pretty docile-which is why I felt ok being about 30 feet away and yelling at him. Oh, with a quick escape door into the garage right next to me :p

Not any Revenant type bear around here

Finished up with some last minute serious Whupazz on the new controller this morning.

Plugged that bad boy in and all was quiet (AS it should be)
Pressed the Reset button (Still all quiet as it should be )
    FLIPPED THE MAIN SWITCH Yessssssssssssssssssss
Panel lights (Main/pwr..Combi and booster) come on (As they should)
Booster fan comes up to speed (As it should)
Twisted the Combi fan speed control and the combi fan spools up ( As it should)
Flipped the Burn switch and the cycle timer starts cycling with the Red lamp blinking off and on with the feed setting (As it should)

Checked the various heat settings and everything is in the ball park
Then I noticed that the panel volt meter is not reading ????????

Grabbed the VOM off the desk and checked the voltage at the meter terminals.

    Reading perfectly ???????????????????

Shut the unit off and swapped the meters. Nope...same issue.
    Scratch head and wonder WTF

Same meter I used in the Panel for the Big stove.

    Arrrrrrrgh.

Puzzling over the debacle and then I spot the issue.

The Meter has the big V in the face but not the Alternating current mark under the V
    Both meters are the same...

EBAY from across the pond (China)
I ordered the correct meter (0-150 volt AC )
Somebody grabbed the wrong chit and tossed it in the box.

I now am the happy owner of two 0-150 volt DC meters :picard:

New meter coming from a different vendor

    Testing is going well.

The 1 megohm resistor is a tad high ( 1.04) and as such the timing is a tad long at 11 seconds.
May switch to a resistor in the 900K range (Each 100K is one second on the timer)

I had ordered some 820K ohm resistors and they were marked wrong on the package and what I got was 866K Ohm (8.6 seconds off time)

Easy to swap these out...takes a couple minutes to change them.

No need now as the testing can continue with the current parts.

When we get to prime time I want the specs spot on for the best fire control.

    Some pics...

I'm probably going to order a ton of MWP from SIB and haul a ton of Platinums from Rockies over the summer. My garage is getting jacked up and a slab poured this fall. Once that is done I will buy more from SIB and have them run into the garage instead of killing myself hauling them into the basement.

Can tell it is "summer", Friday drive home from work was very slow because of all the campers, trailers and general tourists. Left work about 3:10 and got home 4:45 - and I finally got off the highway and took surface roads to be that quick. Sure, it's 50 miles, but usually I can do it in 1:10 - 1:20.

After feeding the cats and birds I got right out and started mowing. Walked out the door as the local news was starting so it was 5. I got my yard done and the neighbor's 3/5 done and walked back inside at 7.

Gathered my 3 gas cans, put some Seafoam in them and went to fill them up. 1 can is for premium (for the bike), so I put a couple gallons of premium "mix" in the truck before filling that can. The other two cans are regular, so I had to make a separate purchase.

Got home and pulled the car and bike out of the garage. Dug out the snow blower from the back corner and filled up the gas in it. Then started it up and let it run for a minute or so - so that is summerized.

Wet and sloppy outside this morning.
Built a fire in the Small Whit (64 F in here) cooked up the coffee and switched on the computer.

Flipped the new stove controller on to let it sit and churn away.

Sipping my cup O Joe and watching the cool little LED lamps on the control panel doing their thing.
With the Red cycle lamp blinking on and off it's almost like Christmas.

    Ahhhh yesss

It's been a long busy season with all the "Building Projects"

2 control panels and the Munchy machine...

Real glad that this stuff is over... :makeitrain":makeitrain":makeitrain"

Munchy ended up costing over double what I planned on.

Getting the new controllers done and ready makes me feel far more at ease ..

Losing a stove during the winter weather could be a real serious problem...

Panel testing pretty much all day now and working sweet.

Decided that the fan speed control needed a LOCKING DEVICE to prevent accidental adjustments.

Machined a cool little aluminum angle and drilled and tapped it to allow the small red knob to screw in and lock the speed control easily.

That bad boy will keep any unwanted adjustments at arms length for sure.

I ordered up a little bigger selection of resistors to be able to fine tune the heat ranges.

Well, finally a decent day. My upstairs tenant moved out so I've been freshening up the apartment. Mostly paint so no biggie. Finally brought the Harley home from it's winter hibernating spot. Took a long ride hone but as I neared my house, it cot freakin cold. Seabreeze. It was 52 at my house.
Hope y'all have a safe and pleasant holiday weekend and don't forget to remember all the fallen who have made it possible to do what we do.
