-2F actual. -22F windchill. Brrrr! Hardwood mix and a even a couple pieces of..... Gulp.... Hackberry I didn't run the blowers overnight. I am now though! They definitely help distribute the heat. Stay warm everybody. Edit. Now that the sun is rising -6F actual and -24F wind chill. Its a long ways from the recent -30F actual but still nippy!

We’ve got some spruce fighting back the temps, keeping the house toasty. Was supposed to be colder than the -6, that’s a win. I imagine most of you is your Friday of the work week, it’s my 3rd Monday in a row, Ian not of until Tuesday- Wednesday. Alternate work schedule never favors the employee. BOHICA!
We also got about a 3 hour blip yesterday of -22 c feels -26 c or something in the afternoon. You notice it two ways. First, when you open the door to let the dog in, he stares at you and doesn't move, and temps inside walk up from 68 f to 76 f while doing nothing different with the stove.
We had a warm-up yesterday. Got up to 42 here. I was surprised when I got up around 3:00 to restart the stove and found it was still at 38 but the wind had came up and the temperature started falling. It's 21 now. When we went to bed it was just too warm in the house to put wood in the stove. That is nice to have in February. Hey! Only 2 weeks from today is March 1!!!!!! Red-winged blackbirds will be showing in less than a month now.

Been there many times. 2-3 feet of snow does not surprise me. I think the most I've ever seen was in South Range back in the 70's and of course up in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Tried once going up on Brockway Mt Drive with snowmobile. Could not make it. I also remember coming down off the mountain into Copper Harbor...on cross country skis. They said I was crazy. I thanked them. I was. But I made it and it was fun. Still, I should have had downhill skis for that one.
