Can't like this enough. It does suck. Real temps 95 and higher. Dewpoint low-mid 70's.

Changes in air masses forecasted for Friday. Until then, sitting/sleeping under ceiling fans in AC, like the majority of July and August.

Just before the first bad heatwave moved in earlier this summer, I pulled a muscle in my back so the window units never were put in, our basement is between 68-71 with a TV,stereo and small fridge with a couch and recliner so that is where I've been hanging out.

I have some stacking to do and then it's off cutting in the woods. Since last year was a chitty year for sledding we're hoping for some early snow and cold so we can run the sleds.

Oh.... just saw where tonight's low is to be 76. Avg daytime high this time of year is 78.

I know temps elsewhere are much higher, but this region's population isn't used to it. Schools that have opened, are having early dismissals due to heat and no AC.

The back is just fine, it took about a 45 days for it to be 100 percent.

I did more splitting today and finished the first stack of wood I started yesterday and then started our second stack. I would've kept going but we lost power at the house (an inline breaker kicked out on the line out front) so I hooked up the generator for a bit until the power came back on.

It's still 75 here with the cold front coming in later tonight, hopefully it isn't that bad.

The last two days we've had cloud cover with some pretty good winds, it was about 86 today and muggy but the ice cold water did the trick.

We lost power for 45 minutes today so the wife came out to tell me so I called it a day and got the genny hooked up so we would have power throughout the house.

    Nice job woody!

We got hot today around 89°F and the storms pushed through around 6pm-ish. Wind was strong, it rained a bit and has moved through. A few pine came down, but that's it.

We had some hard rains earlier too, it didn't cool anything off. It will cool off some and then heat back up just in time for when the kids head back to school.

Do those pine coming down mean you don't want a pile of our pine logs. :zip:

Worked Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning splitting and stacking some white oak. It's been hot, but I turn the fans around, so that helps. I'm behind on our wood also, so been letting the fans run 24/7.

Bucked up two oaks that fell on our property this morning. Figured I would get to them before the heat really turned on. While finishing up the second tree someone turned the heater on and I had to call it quits. Will finish up tomorrow morning as the temps are supposed to drop into the low 60's this evening.

After running into town so we could pick a few things up, I did some work. In pictures 1834 and 1835 I split some pine smaller so if we get a good rain, I can burn the stuff pictured in 1836. The stuff I split in picture 1835 is under cover so it will stay dry.

In picture 1837,38 and 39 I split some rounds and then did some stacking, I plan on finishing this stack tomorrow.

Thanks Well Seasoned , I'll finish it up tomorrow and then get ready to finish insulating the garage on Sunday morning.

We decided that we would paint (white) what OSB we put up this year before putting up shelves and workbench.
