    I'm looking for someone with some experience with this saw to do some porting and muffler work. If your interested please PM me with some info on what you've done in the past and what kind of $$$ we are talking.

    Hmmmmmm. Not sure who has experience with that particular saw. I know several porters on here though.

    I'm ok with that as long as there are good results. I LOVE this saw and really want a little more umph from it.

    What about a cs8000 or cs680 ? I have a couple of each so I'd be interested in having a saw ported. Honestly I've never run a ported saw so I guess I should get on the ball.

    Aaron, have you taken up square filing yet? I’ve personally seen 30% gains going from round (very sharp round from my Timberline jig) to razor sharp square. That’s about the gains had from porting.

    To me it seems like of a lot of money for the work involved. Porting a saw is not that difficult. Especially a woods port.

    Never tried to mod one, taken many apart though. Definitely have the tools to pull it off. Thing is without the knowledge of what I'm after I'd be shooting in the dark. Maybe if I could buy a set of prints from someone for a tried and true combination I'd go for it.

    A woods port job these days consists of cutting the base, setting the squish then doing the ports. Kinda tough to do without a lathe.

    I've got 5 lathes. Setting the squish is straight forward enough, if I was given a target number. But the ports is where I lack knowledge, not on the metalworking end but in the design department.
