Some different to mix it up a bit here. Something besides the big 2... Just your average firewood saw, not a race saw or anything fancy. I have a build or 2 of my 590's here. Love those saws for what they are. Wake up well with some port work. Inexpensive and plenty durable. Why not take that chassis an add 14cc displacement. Started with a cs 600 (45mm bore x 37.6 stroke) 59.8 cc Swapped in a cs 670 jug 50mm bore x 37.6 mms stroke =73.8 cc Had to make a spacer to raise the jug. Spacer/adaptor on ex flange to change the angle, and provide a wider bolt pattern for the exhaust. Rather extensive muffler mod.. Found a rod bearing to fit, allows the use of a 12mm pin vs stock 11mm used a 268 xp window piston. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Made the intake port match the cs600 boot. Has the make a .080 spacer to get the boot to fit the tank proper. Widen the ex just out to the bevels. Lower transfer tunnels had to be blended on the ex side. Just matched it up with the window in the piston Squish had to be cut to fit the 268 piston. Had to use the taller piston, to get useable port timing Current #'s Intake 75.5 Exhaust 100 Transfer 115 Squish. 023 Pic show ing the jug and muffler, shows the leaned back angle the case has. Cool man. I have a few echos In the garage. Mine are all stock but I like their products and warranty. Looks like some good work there
All put together. These carbs have a bypass nozzle on the h side. Nozzle with the hole in the bottom allows fuel to bypass even with the h needle allk the way seated. I swap em with a solid nozzle allows the carb to tune out like normal. Comp after a little bit of run time. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Filled the decomp hole. Have and unlimited cs 620 coil and larger cs 620 carb. They really seemed to help the performance with the larger displacement. And the 620 coil has more ignition advance built in. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
These videos ^^^ have 5 +tanks through unlimited coil larger carb. SOFT poplar, only sizable wood I had at home. First couple tanks. Different operators, limited coil and smaller carb. Runs well, but I think it will pick up a good bit by getting the port timing dialed in. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Thank you, I like em pretty good. Trying to shed some light on the under dog. Now If echo would just steal this saw and put it into production.. think they would have a hit. Light weight 70+cc good antivibe.. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Well done, Red97! I'd say I'm impressed but that'd be a gross injustice to the work done here because it's much more than impressive, you've built a cool saw, one that I'd love to play with!
Thank you. It has been a fun project. I think it still has a bit more left in it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Video from this last weekend at a gtg. With unlimited coil and larger carb nice hard beech. 28" lw bar Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
My thoughts Squishband half carbon half clean leads me to believe it needs more blow down/outlet. pattern on the crown. Seems the transfers don't have a ton of pressure, to wash the crown especially on the ex side. Very slight rubbing on the bottom of the piston at tdc ex side. Probably has something to do with the long dwell time? Has time to rock? Idk Time to trim the spacer. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Snappier, bit more rpm in the wood. Falls off faster. But that is the trade off. Be just about right with a 24" Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Gotcha. Would be interested to see if noodle as well to see how it takes that added load. What did it tac at Joe?
Still round 13,600. Tried noodling like the last vid. Jam instantly lol, had to rock it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
