Havent done this in years, thought I'd try it again.

Big bowl of clean fresh snow (Another 4 inches overnight, its 1 below zero with sunshine right now)
2 Tablespoons to 1/2 cup Half & Half or Whipping Cream
1 Tablespoon Pure Maple Syrup (better than cane sugar IMO)
    1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract

You could also add chopped nuts, cherries, strawberries, plain or chocolate malted milk powder, shredded coconut, chocolate pieces or chocolate syrup....whatever you like.

About 1 minute in blender, tastes pretty good.

Snow is pretty dirty... Full of dirt/dust, bird poo, etc.

Ditto. Sounds like an experiment is in my future the next time we get snow.

I wonder if honey would work in place of sugar or maple syrup?

Dunno... no different than not drinking rain water. Google eating snow if you don't believe me.

Made a batch of it last year. Used sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and more sugar.

Read the last line of this statement excerpted from this ehow article.

    Considerations
    • Making a meal out of snow exposes you to excessive bacteria and potential hazards. Consumed in large quantities, snow can drop your core body temperature. Snow caught from the sky should not harm a child. Even fresh snow cones or other snow treats should not be harmful if, like other desserts, they are enjoyed in moderation.
I think we are all relatively safe.
