Idk? Kinda hot to measure right now lol. But there is very little clearance between the door and knob. Like a 1/4 inch.

That's at least 1/4" more than what Kimberly has.

Hello, just got back in from a Halloween party; fancy dress, quite fun. The video shows the 01. I have the 02 and the hinges are welded on instead of bolted. I did think maybe the spring was too big but the replacement spring knob was the same size.. I might call Lowes and see if they have an 02 in stock I could compare to my stove.

It doesn't matter what the clearance is, what matters is there is clearance and I don't have that on my stove. :D

No the new rod would piggyback on top of the existing rod, once the hose clamps were tightened and stretched, it wouldn't move and you would be good to go

I understand, the rod would be on top of the old rod so would be in a different plane. I don't like the idea of hose clamps; the stove is in the lounge. Now if I could get my BIL to use his wire welder and tack the new rod in place so it wouldn't look so bad.....

You could scuff The rods up good for a good Bond, and use some epoxy steel putty stick

Hose clamps would be where I start to make sure th AAS can work and easy to 're adjust. Once you get it working then weld it.

It looks like that rod is not too difficult to remove...the manual shows taking off the back of the stove and disconnecting the AAS then the rod slides out the back. You could do whatever you wanted with it at that point...I'd probably weld on an extension with a mild upward offset...but I'd email ESW pics of the whole deal and see what they say first...

Can we see a picture of the side of your stove with the hinges?

I didn't realise the 02 had a step up on top like the 30. Interesting

I think almost all modern stoves do...it looks good, but the main reason for it is structural, it keeps the top from warping easily while going through intense heating and then cooling cycles...

I just read a report (and saw pics proof) of another Englander stove (that "other" forum) that pretty obviously has the door welded on in the wrong spot, well, actually more like the wrong hinges welded on...and it sounds like this is not the first report of such non-sense just recently either...wonder what's goin on at ESW? QC get a layoff?!

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. I'm not sure what's more jacked up. Those hinges or the guy who thought it'd be okay to light that thing up?

Those hinge pins almost look like they aren't quite lined up!
