A plugged exhaust system will cause the same problem too.

You should not be able to turn the motor by hand.

The other thing, unless you have the terminals jumped for the thermostat, it will not be calling for pellets thus the auger won't be turning either.

IMO....before you start throwing parts at that thing, get everything thoroughly cleaned and replaced (glass, gaskets) and get it all put back together and see what happens. You may be spending money you don't need to spend.

Here's hoping that they didn't try turning the shaft, and just put 120 v to it. The gear case can be opened up too, IIRC......maybe solid, old caked up grease in there stopping things from moving???

Keep us up-to-date on your progress, and keep the pics coming (hint: we love stove pics, burning or not). We love seeing a stove brought back from the dead. :fire:

We desided that we are using the wood stove again this year. Due to finances.

tammysteve1971 something just dawned on me, That auger motor may not be bad. The stove will not make enough vacuum to pull in the vac switch without glass installed.
So don't give up on that yet. Jump the vac switch(connect the 2 wires together) to test the auger.
