Current temp 45° Had freezing rain overnight with temps rising, just rain now. Winds gusting to around 30mph. Won't get down to freezing until around 5pm later. I'll let the stove go cold.
Got warmer overnight. Up to 54. 70 inside. Didn't load up the stove for overnight. So, not burning a thing at the moment. Will clean out the stove, including popping open the top and clear out any fly ash collecting around the cat. Then, fire it up and open some windows. Take advantage of warm temps to change inside air. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
all safe window held.... according to Burlington news highest wind was 64 my buddy on lake gave me 74 mph just so all I know it was windy... 1 piece of facia gone no biggie... I will say this if you think your house is reasonably tight watch your curtains in 70 mph winds can we say air sealing needed!
It's 35 this morning with the driveway looking like a skating rink, I'll be spending time sanding it. Another load of cherry going in the liberty.
Looking at -20 C (-4 F) at the moment. According to the weather network we have about 3 decent days and then back into somewhat of a deep freeze. Poplar and an ugly piece of willow feeding the reactor.
That was a bad day for sure! That's the bad part of living on the backdrop of the Sierras.......Had to find another insurance company after that one.
25* and snowing, I pitched some pine in the boiler to get it out of my way, and to rob it of it's btu's. I have some locust lined up for later.
Or carrying the snow sled from the trailer to the side of the yard I'm 250+, and I nearly got blown off of my feet yesterday with 50+ mph gusts. They were really sustained winds, but nasty. It's 24 out, feels like 12 with the wind chill. Burning beech in the quadrafire. Had the stove up to 670° before closing the choocher valve a bit. Nice and toasty in the house.
Bout 50 here, but the wind is blowin. Actually calm compared to Christmas Day. Blew 40 with 50-70 gusts. Lots of limbs down in my yard so I'm burning linden today! Also burning some ash in the house warmer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't know what I'm burning right now if anything as I'm at the office and left the father in law to tend the stove. It's -3c and clearing. Here's a shot from outside work taken a few minutes ago.
