    What setting are you running on? The Enviro is a pretty high BTU unit?

    Do you have the stove set to Premium pellet? Maybe set it so it turns more often? That way it's not sitting in the same place.

    What was the M-55 rated for? I thought I remember reading it was rated lower than what it actually is? IIRC it's a 60,000+ unit and that's why it needed the added blower and auger cover.

    Eaton- Do you have an auger slide plate? And do you have the updated convection blower?

    Mostly running (until this crazy cold) 3,3,3
    Run on premium pellet
    I think it's rated at 55,000 (can check, but almost positive)
    Don't know what an auger cover is, but I am pretty sure it doesn't have one
    I do have the updated convection blower...It's round.

    No idea. I have the same stove as imacman, have probably burnt less pellets, and my auger looks more like yours than his. Not as bad as yours, but there is obvious wear on mine. His looks new. Maybe it depends on the pellet being burnt?

    Or the heat level? Eaton only runs Somersets. Ran a ton or two of Pro Pellets (but those are good as well).

    Level 3 on Eatons is like 8 or 9 on the CPM.

    Where are you running? In the upper range?

    I've burned a bit of everything in the past, lots of Prestos and Somersets.

    My stove does get pushed pretty hard, so maybe that's why it wears so fast.

    Wow Eaton, that thing is shot. I run mine on premium setting, so It turns every 30 minutes. I will have to be careful, sometimes when there is carbon buildup I run it across a wire wheel to clean it up. Thanks for posting I appreciate the heads up!

    Got to be the operator! :p

    I'll be ordering mine in a few weeks. I'll post a pic of the old auger next cleaning. Not sure I'm gonna like the cast version. Might see if that ebay fella will make me on I can fool with. $124 bucks is too much IMHO. Dam Enviro parts will break ya! :mad:

    Enviro said it was an Investment cast SS.

    Personally I was fond of the weldment. But I guess all the welding was too costly for them, So they came up with this cast version instead.

    Same as your original. Pretty sure all stoves after late 2008-early 2009, had the new cast SS version.

    From what I have seen the weldment version seems to have lasted longer. Weldment has approximately a 5 year life span(going by mine and a few fello Omega owners) and the cast SS is around 3 to 4 from what I have seen. Of coarse this depends on heat level and pellet quality. Pellets with higher sodium content and stoves run up on high heat level seem to be eating them faster.


    Now comparing price the weldment was approximately $30 more expensive than the cast version. If that matters?
