Sold business in March. Stove not part of sale. Getting moved and installed at home. Selling my half interest in huskee 22 and moving about 2 cords home. That's why I've been absent. Big changes in routine.

My gas Woodstock at home got
me through withdrawal. Question is whether you know of a compact gas splitter to process about 2 cords? Don't have room for a huskee.

Guy who bought my practice never used or wanted stove. It was a beautiful and unique feature of the office. Everyone liked it

Weight on huskee is 525 pounds. The iron and oak is Honda powered and half the weight. Easier to have in a suburban setting

The huskee was not easy to maneuver. The iron and oak is almost as powerful if you can live with horizontal splitting. I rarely split vertically

What about renting when you need one? Have everything prepped and ready to go to minimize the rental time and no need to store anything.;)

2 cords and small, I'd be looking at the dual split deal from Harbor Freight.

If you only want it for your back yard, have you considered an electric splitter. They seem fairly compact.

I split all my wood for three and a half years with my 7-ton electric, all but the big ones I had sledge and wedge, or noodle to get them to lifting weight

That dual harbor freight seems great for the money. Never will be without wood heat for too long. Once you had it, you're not going back

After checking out dr splitters, I chose the k22 electric flywheel designed splitter with the heavier optional production table. Super split is too expensive. Refurbished and shipped to a shipping depot 5 miles away for $1,199. No sales tax or freight charges. Little assembly too. Quieter and
Can operate in a shed or garage as its electric. Only downside is that it's not towable. Upside is the weight at 285 and narrow for getting thru tight gate openings and into and out of the garage or shed.

Seems you got what you really need with little trade offs. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I'll post a review. Most use hydraulics, so this is different for sure. The production table will save some bending to pick up. I rarely split vertical anyways. This is horizontal only

They are running a sale. Normal price new is 1799 I believe. New right now with the table upgrade is 1499. Mine is factory rebuilt, which explains the deal

The super split does have a 2nd flywheel, but for processing 3-4 cords a year, this should be fine

With only 2 cord to process, I would just rent a splitter. Then you don't have to store it while it's not being used.....

May want to consider a rental.
