Gas Cans....The Vent is Back!

The new eagle cans with the funnel are a pain to use. The funnel does not seal to the can, and leaks and makes a mess. I added vents to mine so I could pour fuel in a timely manner. The problem now is the funnel on them is small and the fuel comes out fast and can over flow to the vent has to be regulated by my thumb. I need to get a funnel for fueling and do away with the ones on the cans.

 

Yea. New cans won't happen here. Those would be illegal along with toilets that flush more than 1.6 gallons af water per flush (or is it 1.3?)

 

What they need to do is make no-spill adapters for the rest of the gas cans. Those ones where you twist the spout a quarter turn and then have to jam it against the tank of what you are refilling suck a bag of balls. I'd buy those in a heartbeat.

Luckily I still have old toilets in my house. But relitives don't and my farm house I stay in when I go there has a replacement and many freinds have the new one. You have to be concious of it!!!

I always forgot my brother and sites in law don't have new toilets and try to be concious of it. But still clog them. And they don't have a plunger!!! How do uou not have one esp with those toilets!. The first time it did one of those delayed flushes from the water pressure of a full bowl. The next time it never unclog get and I told them and no we don't have a pmunger!!! So I had to just leave it. But luckily all that was in there was water. Everything g was down...plugged somewhere in the path. Those toilets are worthless.

Good thing too cause I was getting low on the more-spill type spouts. For anything bigger than a chainsaw, I usually remove the spout and just pour from the container. Then the spout will get left somewhere - usually the lawn, where it gets run over by the lawnmower.

 

Stuck with nothing but these safety cans at the resort. Crazy expensive and are magnets for moisture.

 

We have several safety cabinets for storage but they're metal too and don't help with the moisture. Can't really do without a lot of them here with this many operators but the cans don't sit more than a few days at a time. Just recently convinced my director to let me switch to non ethanol gas since price is down and I'm way ahead on my fuel budget for the year.

 

At least non E for the two stroke and really small stuff. The big mowers and tractors drink so much it's more like your truck useing it as in its not a big deal.

 

We have 3 each of 1000 gallon gas and diesel tanks that everything is filled from except the road trucks. All tanks need at least 500 gallons a week so nothing sits very long thankfully. The non ethanol should help with the fuel issues we see with the specialty machines that sit for a while between uses.

 

Yea those are the ones I was thinking about.

My buddy says ethonol problems are a wives tale.!! Haha he also really don't work on his own stuff or have much stuff or know people that actually know what the problem is and what caused it anyway!! He said I don't have problems. I said cause you use your stuff probably. I have over 20 gas engines so any problem I see is magnified in that I have much more items to develop a problem.

 

Keeping them full would likely help us with the water issue but I don't speak Burmese and the few guys here that speak both English and Burmese sometimes have a hard time understanding what we need translated. I'm just happy they understand the difference between straight gas and 2 cycle.

 

But he also is talking about specialty machines that have fuel sit in them and not the bulk tanks
