Good mornin friends...well I got to work on my saws fur a little bit...hopefully those two are tuned ok...the 61 has a little hesitation on the jump and winds up a bit slow...I tryed tunin the low a bit more...it idles better...and I lean the high out just a smidge...over all it runs better...didn't seem to slobber as much. I did a little research and the 61 came out with a 28 bar...not a 32. So I think the bar is too big fur this wore out saw. The 372 is peppy and runs strong...I did lean it out a bit more and the oil dose seem to be clearin up...thank you fur all your help....

Ok...I'm goin to start another project soon and need a little input...I'm gonna build another Hong Kong saw...I read some where...I could use a stihl 52 mm piston and ring in a 52 mm big bore cylinder fur a 372 husky...I'm not sure what the benefit would be. I think the location of the wrist pin lifts the top of the piston a bit higher in the cylinder fur more compression... Can anyone confirm or deny this...is a stihl 52 mm piston an 064 piston or ??? Thank you...

Good mornin Clem and thank you fur your input...it dose...all the research I did say...24 to 28 in. Bar...I didn't see any that said anything about a 32 in. Bar...that's what my boss wanted to tune it too...I'll have him fur a 28 or 24 on it...should be pretty snappy then fur an old wore out saw...lol..thank fur the help Clem...

No. But I know Mike would and probably several others here. But I do think they use it either for the double ring and or that it's taller for more compression.

064 piston with a pop up or cut squish.

Thank you fur your input md and good mornin...is a pop up piston one where you bevel the top of the piston so it will go further in the cylinder fur more compression...or?? Not sure about the squish...can you exsplain more on the pop up and squis procedure on the 064 piston and the 52 mm cylinder...please...tryin to learn...thank you md....

You trim the outer portion of the piston so it wont hit the squish band. You can also cut that area instead of the piston.

Thank you fur your input md...I understand... It would be easier to trim the out portion of the piston than the squish band right?...so the 064 piston will fit the 52 mm cylinder fur the husky??? What is the gain??? More compression??? Is the 063 piston the same leanth below the wrist pin as a stock 52 mm husky pistion??? Or will the 064 piston skirt need trimmed up to fit??? Have you done this before md... Thank you...

I think you have to trim the skirts. If you have a degree wheel then you see what you really are gaining with the skirt length and crown height.

Yea some guys on here get some ...I think they get it off amazon. It's stainless mesh. Holes are about twice as large as stock but works and flows better.

I think miller mod saws and mastermind and probably a few others have used it on here.
