I want to know what you hit his left thumb with... my wife took my cordless drill and put a beater in it to do something with breads apparently her and her mom were in kitchen needed more torque I walked away..
For your blue saw they call it a Pac-Man style tool. IIRC for the Echos you use the spline one. On my cs500p I could use either the spline tool or a screwdriver. The tools in the kit I posted should tackle most of what you would run into for 2 cycle carb adjustment.
If it was me I'd leave that whole stupid cat plate out and cut the deflector off the exit port befor I put it back together. I'm sure clemsonfor will be along to tell ya how he did his.
Once you get that baby all muffler modded don't sweat it. You'll be able to hear the four stroking easy. Holar if you need some help!
Sure seams like the front half of the cases would get hotter than crap with that cat located where it is.......
Op I would listen to Nike lee on this. If you remove the plate on this it's gonna be a straight shot from inlet to outlet. It will be ear piercing loud. If you cut the cat off and just make sure where the cat is at there's a nice big hole. Then the sound has to bounce around in the muffler before it comes out. That will tone it down but still allow you good flow.
A good example of this is the 550xp and 562xp. When I mod these I actually bend a peice if steel. 3 side face the open towards the from of the muffler and weld it down in under the deflector and then make a new deflector. I know confusing. Let me see if I can find a pic. But essentially this makes the sound bounce off the front off the muffler before exiting. Takes a lot of the high pitch crack out of them.
Here's pocs of the first 562xp I did. But maybe it'll help explain. When gutted these are a straight shot and loud. By adding the pipe angled forward it helped a lot with the high pitch cracks. A 550xp is actually worse! Lol
Sorry for the long ramblings but any MM saw gets loud. And I'm one that if I can make it quite and still have the same performance I'm all about it. Cause they still ain't quite. Lol. Now like a 395xp. Not sure that's possible. Lmao. Them mofos are loud!
What paint you using Carl? I've got to buy some and start painting some of these mufflers. I don't have a good way to clean them so I usually don't attempt painting one.
It's just header paint. I heat the Mufflers up before painting. Randy/Jeremy trick. But one of these days they sell the high heat powder coat system with oven for iirc $350. I want one of them. Lol.
I bought this set of tuning tools. Next item, a tach. i have this tach (optical form HF) I used for setting idle on a bike that had no tach..... Will it work or should i get a a digital pulse reader type like this one
id say a little of that reflective tape on the flywheel should allow that tach to work, assuming the tape isnt thicker than the flywheel airgap. i have the fasttach and it works great.
