More info on Woodstock's new stove

Changing out that double pane glass gaskets are a pita! I also don't think it makes my glass any cleaner than any single pane stove ive had.

There may also be a safety factor involved. If one or the other cracks you can still burn until you receive a replacement.

 

i can't see how the double glass hurts, save costs, and they aren't over charging in the first place. maybe the thrust of the franklin is for cost containment and the smaller size and then single glass could be offered cheaply enough to attract a certain customer.
for almost any purchase i am looking for two things. first, not to over spend. i went for echo instead of treating myself to a stihl or husky. then, i'm looking not to under spend, and went for the cs600p over the cs590, or cs400 which would have been an adequate saw but not nearly as good, there's your extreme penalty for not forking over the extra couple hundred. that's me and i guess sober headed buyers aren't the whole market and you have to have something entry level.
on a performance basis i would think the double pane has to be doing something pretty positive.
