Just take the hose off of it. If it has two nipples on it make sure you put it back on the right one. Or you can take the hose off wherever it goes to if it's easier to get at.

A member here that does maintenance for a living was thrilled with his Toro. I think they need to exhaust out the back vs the side.

Great point for newbs who are looking for one.
This is a must. It can't just be a leaf blower. Remember, you are "sucking" the ash out of the vent/stove. .

So it HAS to have the vacuum option. Plus, that long neck helps with making an adapter to fit your stove vent.

I have a Troy-Bilt unit that is rated for 450 CFM and 240 MPH. Works great.

I cut the vacuum suction tube down until I could fit a 4"-3" PVC reducer in it, then used liquid nails to make it permanent also seal it all up. .

The 3" end fits on a 3" pellet vent (add some tape to seal) and it slips inside a 4" (also add tape to seal).

From Inside the stove behind the removed exhaust blower I push the ash from The exhaust tunnel Towards the Outside with a stiff bristle brush..
It drops down to the bottom of a 90[still inside as shown]... then I connect the leaf blower while plugging up the vertical outside exhaust with a rag so as to get best suction.
Remove the same rag then stuff it in the horizonal pipe so as to get the vertical pipe cleaned with again, best suction.
Oh, and I also leave the door open a bit to save possible? damage to vacuum switch..

My own special version of the LBT (the Very Best Trick maybe? ) - used only when I haven't had enough caffeine. My fingers sometimes get serious Alzheimer's and can't remember where the keys are.
