Although I am licensed for EPDM I prefer FiberTite. Obviously penetrations and seams can cause issues. EPDM uses seam tape and adhesive on seams. No seams would be best on your deck roof, looks like a 10 might have worked. Fibertite is a PVC membrane with proprietary product from Dupont, pretty much the best stuff on the planet, in other words it is the only jet fuel proof membrane. Anyhow the seams are heat welded and 660% stronger than adhered seams. Basically, I can provide up to a 30 year warranty, and yes it is watertight. I only brought up your flooring because Grace would have never ran ASTM, FM, or compatibility chemical reaction test of the asphalt product an a flooring product. I get it Don your tinkering have fun

Yes thanks for your comments. I just heard of PVC mil 60 membrane with RinoBond. Sounds like the good stuff!

Yes that is correct Smokey. If it was a simple addition, then a roof and shingles would work just fine. The big complication is the open deck above it. The roof of the room does have a nice slope to it and it is not flat and will not be walked on so it does not have all the potential failures of a flat roof. Commercial grade PVC membrane may have been the best choice but typically it is not used in a very small residential job.
Here is what I have so far.
Just a little shack to putter around in.
What should I heat it with? :)

    1. Pelpro HHPP2BD
    2. Englander 25-EP
    3. Harman Advance with new Nickel Trim Kit.
I wanted the Quad CB1200 but I sold it. :-(
I would like a WiFi T-Stat on it.

No you need a real smoke dragon something you could start a BBQ bizz on the side with. See BBQ with Franklin on PBS 's Create channel for ideas.

    Hello

As an extra precaution, we put Grace over the bolt holes that hold the joists down for the decking.

    Hello

Got some PolyGlass today to go on top of the Grace I&W to protect the grace before the deck boards go on.
    Is that a good idea?

    Hello

Polyglass is on over the 2 layers of grace I&W ! ! ! The light color pebble top on the Polyglass will not be harmed by UV rays and will reflect the heat. The Polyglass is tough stuff to cut!

The Polyglass interlocks with a tab with the same special adhesive that Grace has. Grace goes up 14 inches against the house under the shingles.

Some builders do a floating deck, but this is not floating, the joists are bolted into the 2x12s below the roof so it is stronger than a floating deck! The 2x12s below are tied to a ledger bolted to the house!
