You ever forget? I forgotted. Stumbled across a six pack of one gal mini mixer bottles of 2 cycle. Foil seals are intact but can't remember when these were bought. They were in an unheated yard shed knocked off back of a shelf and hung up between a stud and shelf leg. 5 years old or less cuz I didn't have them when we moved here. Can this go bad or is it good forever?
I just used some from when I moved and unpacked the box they were in. Mine were about 5-6 years old. Worked fine. IMO you are good to go.
I have some that is approximately 30 years old. It is still good. The can is sealed so no dirt got in...
Back in the 80's I bought a six pak of lawn boy 2-cycle oil in the pull tab cans at a rummage sale. I think I have one left! Stuff is great and never even thought there would be such a thing as an expiration date.... (I use it for "emergency" when I run out unforseen at the cottage)
There are 4 major ways oils 'expire': Contamination Depletion of Additives Package Shearing out of Grade Oxidization None of those four is going to happen to a sealed container in the span of 5 years.
That's kinda why this pack was bought. Out cutting and was about out of oil and only store near by only had six pk gallon mixers. Finished cutting on last tank and didn't need to mix more. Got home and put it up and mixed a batch out of the big bottle n just forgot about the little ones.
