The time finally came to get a newer truck. Just didn't want to show up at my customers places anymore with the old Dodge. That and the kids kinda out grew the back seat. Did manage to get almost 295,000 miles out of her and she will still treat someone else well if they don't mind the typical Dodge rust or are willing to replace some panels. I am going to miss the Cummins for sure. 2009 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6.0L
Nice ride for sure. I hear ya on the tough time leaving the dodge to pasture. I loved my 97' dodge with the cummins, best engie I have ever had in a truck.
Oh now that is sweet! Congrats Bret Hart. I love the color black on a truck. You will like that truck. Great work horses. I recently found a nice used 2012 4x4 extended cab with same motor. Here she is with the racks I built for it. Here is a link to the thread of me building them. TOO QUICKLY , but it got done. http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/what-do-you-think-black.7704/
You'll have that typical GM rust before too long......................and wish you still had that Cummins mpg's going for you.
I'm not typically a GM truck fan, but I do like the looks of that particular model. Good luck with it.
Last tank I ran through the Dodge was 15.7 MPG with almost no idle time and driving it easy. The first tank in the GMC was 11.9 but I made a 250 mile round trip and a lot of those highway miles were around 80 MPH. I should have a better idea next week of what the regular MPG's will be when I have to fill up again. I don't normally drive like that. At the end of the month, as long as I'm not pulling the trailer much, it will cost me less to drive the gasser than the diesel. Gas is $1 per gallon cheaper than diesel around here.
Sad day. Just watched the Dodge leave on the back of a truck. Been driving it for 13 years and I'm going to miss it in some ways. At least I got my full asking price for it and kept the contractor cap. Think maybe I'll order some running boards today for the GMC to cheer me up.
