8.2 mm/ 9.5 is the distance of the width of the long slot for the bar/chain adjustment ?
or the hole size of the 2 bar mounting holes.

So my Husqy 61 bar won't fit my 359 ?
or visa / versa
Are the bar mount nuts different threads too ?

Oiler holes different distances too ?

I "assumed" I could use the bar & bar nuts of the 60 cc Husqy 61 on the 60 cc Husqy 359.
Not true ?

 

I believe that your 61 is large mount, and the 359 is definitely small mount. The bar nuts are the same, I think.

Ok for all you saw nuts i assume it is still safe to run my 50:1 fuel mix in this saw? Also I use High octane gas and Stihl full synthetic mix. Would you all recommend switching to a different oil? If so what?

The balance on the new Husky 545/550xp....555/562xp is totally different than the old style saw. You are gonna fall in love. Then you are gonna have to send the 357xp to Ohio

 

Ok well that's good to know. Now with the autotune I won't even need to worry about switching blend ratio's correct?

Can't wait to give them a try side by side. So far the 555 only has 4 tanks of fuel through it so from what I have been reading it sounds like it needs a few more before it really settles in? Have you found that to be true with your saws. I was originally watching for a 545 or 550 but changed my mind when I saw this one.

 

I sent Brad a PM and he told me he runs 32:1 in his saws. so I am going to definitely bump my fuel mixture to 32:1 or 36:1.
Looks like my other saws will be getting a retune.......

 

Im running 36:1 as well ! Middle ground for thise who cant decide

 

The change from 40:1 recommended mix ratio went to 50:1 with no change to the internal saw parts.
It was driven by EPA regulations.

50:1 is pretty lean on oil, remember the oil in the fuel is the lubrication for the internal moving parts

Going with 40:1 is going to give more lubrication & possible more power due to less friction.
I don't know the break off point to where more oil in the fuel causes less power,
but like said 32:1 & 36:1 work well.

IMO Amsoil 2 cycle oils have thousands of hours of testing behind them. Amsoil makes oil, that's what they do.
Pretty sure Stihl or Husqy don't make oil, my guess is they buy bulk & have it packaged it in their containers.
Be nice to know who makes their oil.

I run Amsoil Saber at 40:1. (3.2 oz per gallon)
(Husqy 359 book says to mix 50:1)

To me its info thats not really needed. Been using Husky mix for over 20 years... And am still using the saws from 20 years ago too. Still great compression.... No seized motors.... No failures. Ive paid less for my oil... So who is really ahead of the game ?
It comes down to what makes a fella sleep at night
Btw..... I sleep just fine not having an XP on most of my saws as well ! I always say... Its not the saw.... Its the person running and maintaining it.
Thats more of a rant than i figured id have lol !
