All I run now is semi chisel. I got tired of full chisel hardly lasting. Little dirt in the bark or some punky junk in the log and it's done, while semi chisel lasts and lasts.

I gave it a go with some semi chisel and it didn't help much.

The chain doesn't look dull (has a glint on the cutter) and doesn't feel dull with a file (grabby when dull...slick when sharp) but it is still making as much dust as it does chips.

After a couple cart loads the chain will need touched up but nothing terrible.

I was seeing some sparks while cutting the old barkless locust I've been hauling lately. Thought it was probably from the dirt that accumulated under the bark. Tried wiping down the logs before I cut them, but I didn't get it all off.

On the bright side, I got some practice using my new set of hand files! Touched up the rakers on a couple pre-hand-file loops, and I was back to large chips again! I have an el cheapo electric chain grinder I've been using up until now. Keeps them sharp, but after a few sharpenings, I end up with dust instead of chips.

If you see glint on the cutter it's dull. Should be a clean crisp edge.

Right...has no glint. Not dull...I guess I could have worded better above.

Theres a cart load pictured above. Usually it is neon yellow when fresh cut and turns dark orange later. This stuff is already orange.

Looks like an LPX chain but ground at an angle more suited to a ripping chain...
    Should be pretty durable..
