Had a chance to check out the progress on the new calciner.
They have gotten the top bricks laid, now a poured mix goes over that ,even with toop of steel shell...hole in the middle is top of center shaft. 20260829_090608.jpg 20260829_090626.jpg

Got a chance to check on progress of kiln build.
Big damper to control pressure and combustion gases. Also see the casting inside big pipe. 20260903_021941.jpg
The top mix has been poured 20260903_021902.jpg
A good view of the center shaft with arms and rakes attached. Note the openings, top hearth clay falls through center, bottom hearth clay falls through the outside holes. That's the way clay moves through the kiln. 20260903_021629.jpg
    Arms with insulation applied... 20260903_021441.jpg

The tanks came in for the pad in post #142 above. They got them installed Monday and Tuesday.
Big boy crane is backing in to set up... 20260928_113017.jpg
Backing the trailer in with tank. Rear steering sure makes it easier 20260928_134208.jpg
Smaller crane picks up the bottom end... 20260928_141104.jpg
I noticed the front of the crane moving a bit...Wonder if he had any pucker factor going on...I zoomed in on the front outrigger pad... 20260928_140950.jpg
Trailer gone, now time to start standing it up... 20260928_141208.jpg 20260928_141353.jpg 20260928_141535.jpg
After taking the bottom braces and lifting plates off, time to lift it up and over to the pad... 20260928_143107.jpg
On the pad, can just see it behind the concrete silo. 20260928_143401.jpg
Sure didn't look that tall on the trailer, but it's up there... 20260930_005417.jpg
Another good :usa::usa::usa::usa:built product. Hauled over 1100 miles from WI to GA... 20260930_005523.jpg

I have driven past that town a number of times when I was still working. I usually had to go to Wausau when I passed Rothschild.

Well, guess they just changed the tag. Different tank, same company.
