This was yesterday evening. I counted 11 turkey total. If you know what you're looking for, there's 9 or 10 in this picture.
Pileateds are neat birds. They of course have their own unique call, but when I see one I can't help but hear the "Woody Woodpecker" cackle in my head.
It's always such a thrill to see a pileated woodpecker. I have only seen them a couple of times even though I do have some that live in my area.
We have a Ruffed Grouse that has taken up residence on our property. We've designated it a she although in reality we have no clue but she is pretty fearless. She's been wandering all over our property daily for at least close to two months now.
