5 above and windy but a nice blue sky at least. Just reloaded with black locust after getting things started with ash this morning.
Down around 3F when I got out of bed this morning, I got up about 30 min earlier to get the stove some time to heat the house for when the kids get up. Pretty sure it was mid 60s in here when I left. at 5:45. No one tends the stove other than myself- so that charge of wood (+ some solar gain through the windows) had the house at 65F when I got in about 20 min ago at 3:10pm. Temps are on there way back below 0 tonight so I'm going to really run this thing tonight and see if I can get some gain. I've been getting right about to 70F and that's about what I can maintain with my normal burn schedule with temps at the 0 mark. Still not too bad IMO.
Sunny afternoon here, 12F outside, couple pieces of split ash in the stove keeping the workshop at 50F.

Hi and Welcome from me too! Glad to have you aboard! Look forward to pictures of wood stacks, dogs, cats, stoves and toys etc. There is a new member thread somewhere.....I think.
I tried to load a picture but evidently this site won’t support pictures directly off my phone. Said the file was too large. Oh well. Apple iPhone if anyone wants to tutor me on posting pictures here.
12/70 no midday load again as we had bright sun. Have a load of cherry and elm cooking now. Below zero expected overnight. I have some big ash splits ready, maybe a round of oak.
WOW! That looks like a monster. Welcome aboard. +6f at 22:23 heading down to -2f for the low. Warm up should start tomorrow.
Well, we hit single numbers this morning. 8º out Our normal lows for here is around 32º this time of year. Let pups out, let pups in! Had a small bed of hot coals, 3 Oak splits on, getting the burn back up. 67º inside.
Woke up to 5* outside, 64 inside, just threw on a mix of oak, maple and cherry. This is the coldest it's been here in years.
