    Aunt Margaret passed day before thanksgiving; not really sad due to quality of life she had. Dementia and didn’t recognize her own children.

    I guess I am grieving stage of life where more family GTG are for funerals than weddings or baby showers

    That is always such a shame when demtia sets in. They seem to become a different person.

    I also agree about family GTG. In my case there are only a couple cousins that are older than I. I guess this means we are now the older generations.

    Sorry for your loss. MIL passed a year ago and her sister (aunt) has had dementia for about 10 years. My older sister also has dementia. We're all taking care of each other.

    It was a blessing when my Dad passed at the beginning of the year. He had full blown Alzheimer's and was a vegetable for the last several months. At that point, he didn't even know how to swallow food that was spoon fed to him. I grieved that the once very smart man was reduced to that state, but could not grieve his passing at all.
