I think it is supposed to be...but if you buy it before, and self install...then again, I'm not sure I'd want to endure an IRS colonoscopy from one of the 87000 new agents... :startled:

    Better late than never.

I bought the 95' of 1" Themopex yesterday. Hauled in some sand for lining the trench today. I have a 5" core drill coming tomorrow for cutting a new hole through the basement wall. I'm keeping the original lines in place and will still use them for domestic hot water. Having cold water of the initial surge enter the water heater that I use as a buffer, isn't a bad thing.

My plumbing supply guys (where I bought some people and connects) said the 25mm to 1" unions are insanely high priced. They had a guy come in yesterday trying to not use some kind of adapter Central Boiler supplies, he decided to stay with it still it was over $100/fitting. Yes...each.

    I'm glad I went with 1".

I'll post some pics as things progress.

    The ground is freaking hard!

Also, the Amazon core drill didn't work, had to go all "professional."

I finally fired up the Hardy for the season.

    (Non- scientific study)

First night, starting with everything cold, we burned about 25-30% less wood out of a random tote with different species of wood. This is an estimate based on similar temps and wind conditions (totally from memory).

Some of it was Quaking Aspen (I think), it was really lightweight. This tote came from Ohio Wood burners firewood expo, so I have no idea what was in it.

I'll use a known species (Oak, hard maple and beech) when it gets cold enough, but so far, the stove is going much, much longer between firings, and, I'm running the Taco pump continuously.

The orange lines have been there 22yrs and the only time there is a trickle of moisture is when it rains after a long dry spell and the ground has pulled away from the exterior wall. I back filled from footer drain to about 20" below grade with pea gravel. It's right about at the level where those line enter the wall, the new set are in clay'ish topsoil.
