It’s certainly been hot. I’ve been starting early and quitting by 8.30-9.30. Sometimes a little in the evening but not yesterday, it never cooled off much. It’s all looking good Brad. Take it easy till it cools off a bit.

I delivered a half cord today loaded in the shade. Customer and I stacked in his shed in the shade. I split in full sun for 45 minutes and quit. Stacked that in the shade.

Tomorrow will be better, unless it rains.

Ya know if it wasn't painted red I'd think it was mine. Looks like its a Ford too. Even the wood looks like a buZZsaw load.

Hit the yard this afternoon. Split the rest of the HL and loaded. I found an area to stack the it for now in the bundle wood shed. One more HL trunk log to process. IMG_7758.JPG Fired up the 462 and bucked more BL. IMG_7757.JPG

Dang that's an old thread. Yes same property, but different owners. Former owner was an excavating/concrete contractor. He has since passed.

I wasn't even a member yet when you posted that thread, but I did find it by accident one day a while back when I was searching for something else. Sorry to hear about the former owner. That's neat you're able to cut there again with the new owner's blessing.

The former owner had that log deck that was for the taking back in 2019 as the property was being sold.

Funny you posted that as I was BSing with the current owner today looking at where that log deck was kinda reminiscing. It was cleared and covered with artificial turf for their wedding May of last year.

Havent been back in a few days. Split the bucked BL rounds and loaded. IMG_7768.JPG IMG_7769.JPG Topped off a half cord rack across the street. IMG_7770.JPG The rest of it (mostly barkless) came back here and will be stacked at my BL location down the street.

Sure is. Kinda weird as I've been working it in that atrocious humidity.

He had his burn pile going and I was somewhat down wind from it. Contributing to the wild fire haze. :picard:
Amazing with the logs he puts in there. There was some nice milled scraps that I could've had and had I known he was burning that soon I would've grabbed them. From the looks of it he has storage issues like me but on a much larger scale.
Amazing to see the dumpster truck roll in and dump maybe 3-4 cords worth of logs.

How about you? Doing any wooding in this weather?

Mostly tinkering with the ATV’s. Failed with the Polaris, brought it to the shop this morning for a spa treatment. See if they can adjust her poor attitude. Welded a front hitch on the Honda and putting the little old girl to work. So far so good. Supposed to pick up some sugar maple logs tomorrow and my mother’s bush hog which is in the shop.

Restacked the heartwood splits at BL location yesterday (forgot to take pics).

Hit the yard this afternoon. A larger silver maple log and short cherry one added to the pile. I bucked those then split along with some HL rounds. Bucked more BL but didn't split.
Pic when I left. IMG_7785.JPG Moved what I had split, sorted and stacked across the street IMG_7786.JPG IMG_7787.JPG Finished the fourth row in the bundle wood shed and started on the fifth. Six rows and the center bay will be done. Each row is 10' by 7' IMG_7788.JPG IMG_7789.JPG IMG_7790.JPG Next visit will be splitting BL. I did figure out where I'm going to stack the rest of it.

And pretty stacks too. Norman Rockwell stuff. You could probably charge people to store wood on their property :)
