How many gallons of mix did you use Brad?
I sure don't seek out the gnarly ones but never shy from the monsters. I'll have to read the criteria for membership.

Actually had blisters under my callouses on my left hand. The other guy he has bucking is a hack. Plus the silver maple had very little in the way of straight logs. He appreciates the fact I sell wood and a quality product at that as I've shown him pictures so I know what it takes to get a decent split. He normally doesn't take gnarly wood and wasn't happy about it. How often do you get stuck with an entire gnarly tree
    Joe?

"Hi, my name is Brad and i hate bucking large gnarly logs" :hair:

LOL!!! Pretty much. Stops for sharpening, fueling, quick lunch and drink breaks.

I knew it was close to quitting time and he was pulling logs from different spots. Worst part was the logs were being staged right on the ground and it wasn't easy on this old back. He wanted to get as much cut while I was there. I saw the way the other guy cuts and don't blame him.

More often than I’d prefer but with the volume I do, the percentage is low.

He called me earlier this week wanting me to come in. I wasnt about to in the atrocious humidity plus i know his wood yard has little shade. After checking the forecast and seeing today would be MUCH drier we agreed. Perfect Summer day to cut wood IMO. Cut oak, maple mix, cherry and ash in that order. Nine hours put in. Ran the 462 most of the day with a 20" bar. 28" for a couple big logs. 500i with a 25' run too. Pics before I started. IMG_7652.JPG IMG_7653.JPG IMG_7655.JPG IMG_7656.JPG

9 hours on the saw is a man’s day. I’m sure you slept well.

LOL!!! Those are loaded directly off his conveyor. Splits just drop in. He'll pick them up with the bobcat and shake them to settle the splits. He has a couple of them next to the splitter for culls and scraps.
I dont think there's a normal stack on the lot.

This man slept like a baby. Feeling it this morning for sure. Nice and dry and I'm trying to talk myself into cutting a load of wood close by.

Back for more today. Sassafras, beech, red and silver maple plus a pile of ash. 361, 462 & 500i worked it until something metal in the beech killed a 28" chain on the 500. Practically brand new of course! Switched to his 660 for the big silver maple. Fought some light rain and quit while working the ash pile as it got too heavy. 7.5 hours in today. Don't mind big stuff too much as long as its not gnarly. Why he too the big logs. Wish the tree guys had a square cut end on most of them. :hair: IMG_7819.JPG IMG_7820.JPG IMG_7821.JPG

What did you find with the 500i? I thought you had a rattle. Curious what you found.

I didn't look. I just deal with it as I cut. Somewhat annoying but it still works.
