I mowed the lawn for the first time on 4/17 last year, which was a little early. I don't think we will even be close by 4/17/25.

I'll have mowed 3-4 times by 4/17. It needs it tomorrow.

I don't recall when I mowed first in 2024, but probably close to now. The grass is greening up well, but it will need a few weeks. I don't think I'll need to mow before the GTG at Adam's.

Yesterday was the first day I didn't get snow showers. Yesterday it got up to 41* and was sunny , but the wind made it feel colder. First sunny day since (checks solar production) April 4th. Today it start clouding up again and we are supposed to get snow/mix/maybe turn to rain again all weekend and in the 30s & 40s. This will be the 4th weekend in a row that has been nasty like that (no ice predicted, which is nice).

Last year it was well into May. I remember seeing the "no mow May" campaign and laughing because the yard didn't need mowing anyway - I think it was 4 weeks in or so before that happened. I do know I didn't quite make a complete no mow May, but it was close.

We caught a break in the rain....time for some dirt work. I have several places in the yard that need filled and seeded and the garden needs tilled. I'll till a couple gardens for the neighbors while the tiller is on the tractor too.

Grass is still brown. Burning a fire in the morning and one in the evening. Ice fishing on US/CA border lakes is open through the 15th. Ice is still pushing 30”, but snow is getting thin in places along the snowmobile trails. I plan on planting some kale, lettuce, spinach, and radish on Monday after a few warm days through Sunday.

The day was set aside for a new Generac installation, that included a coordinated set up of a propane tank. The crew didn’t complete the work soon enough for the inspection sign off so its all done except for the “go” signal.

to stay out of the way, i was once again cutting and splitting and making headway into clearing the trees. Lookin* for some white oak remnants long enough to mill some 4x5 planks for our bridge repair. Flooding at the Ohio river has our creek a5 the tree farm up around 9 feet .

I'm grateful to have phone, internet and tv back, but something is not right, it's painfully slow. TV and our computers take forever to load and and pause and spool every few minutes. I'll call on Monday.

We picked up another boat yesterday. Relatively small and cosmetically rough in a couple places, but a solid boat with some potential.

Been saying for years that the old boat needs some work, and now I'll have the chance.

Well, I need a new desk stool again unfortunately. The same corner of the chair I slide onto and off from 1ooox/day is worn off metal showing, and unfortunately my behind is bonier and needs more cushion. Add the seat was went on the pneumatic funny and it rocks, last night something cracked and peice fell onto the floor and now it's really tippy :hair: ). I found one I like (nice seat and back size and more cushion), but it's closer to $200 than $100. WWW says buy it. It's just hard because we sold commercial office interiors for a a few decades and could buy things at cost.

    www.homedepot.com/p/BOSS-Office-Products-Black-Vinyl-Armless-Drafting-Chair-with-Deluxe-Size-Cushions-and-Seat-Height-Adjustment-B1680-BK/308837684?MERCH=REC-_-pip_alternatives-_-300114662-_-3-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a

I'd ask Eggshooterist , but shipping would be more than this chair.
