Better sleep, less indigestion & stuff.

If I eat after about 7:00, I don’t sleep as well & often get indigestion or heartburn. 5:00 is just too early for me.

Popcorn is my nemesis in the winter.

I got my accessories installed today. Folding side shelves and the Next level cooking / indirect heat kit. Two ceramic plates and two stainless grates. They can be used together or mix n match. The whole shebang rotates so you could smoke a steak then spin it over the coals to sear.

I hope I don't break one. They are around 5/8" thick. Pulled pork attempt #1 will be happening before to long now that I have the ability for indirect heating.

I cooked a couple pounds of bacon on the grill this morning so I didn’t stink up the house. Does that count ??

Certainly. It's how I cook all the bacon anymore. In an SnS grills cast iron griddle in the traeger.

I think I got it on sale. Can't remember. It's pretty deep to hold plenty of pop corn popping grease from the bacon.

I forgot all about this thread. I have updates. Still loving the Spider Grills Huntsman but, until recently, there were a couple irritating things about it. One was complained about enough by most buyers that they made an accessory to fix it. More on that in a bit. Issue one... lid didn't open far enough. I contacted them and they said its designed that way so it can't tip over if opened to far. The lid is really heavy and has an adjustable spring lift assist hinge, so I see their point. Why I hated it like this is because it always rolls the smoke right into my face when opening the lid, even with the fan on pause. So I finally put my mind to changing this on my own. Me being a midget put my mirror breaker right at the perfect level for the smoke to get me. I figured if the lid can open farther, the smoke can go up instead of at me. Well, after studying the mechanics of the hinge I was able to go from this opening... 20250917_094118.jpg

To this opening. 20250917_094159.jpg This without any adverse safety issues. It doesn't feel anymore tippy than stock. Now the lid will upen beyond the centerline of the cooking surface allowing smoke to rise easier. Below shows the bolt that holds in a pin that is a hard stop. I removed it, tightened up the adjustable spring assist just enough to get it to fully open without springing up rapidly. I could elongate the slot in the hinge, that the pin rides in, to still give it a hard stop at the new height, but I feel its unnecessary. Just use a litte common sense when opening it. 20250917_094127.jpg

The other issue was its low cooking surface height. As a midget, it was still to low. Most buyers complained so they came out with a 3 inch lift kit. Reasonabley priced. Noy it has a taller cooking surface than my traeger pellet grill. Im a happy camper. 20250917_094255.jpg 20250917_094308.jpg

But wait, there's more. We bought this little gem for camping trips and, for a bit, I was using it for small cooks at home. I have something on the way to dedicate to that task, so this unit is strictly a travel grill as it was intended. Its a Weber Go Anywhere. The updated unit with split cooking grates and a charcoal damm for offset cooking. It has those vents on both sides and they can be angled when open so only one end is drafting. Two lid vents facilitate the offset cooking method in conjunction with the side vents. Everything needed to use it except the charcoal fits inside. We keep it and a sealed 5 gallon bucket in the trunk of the truck when traveling.

That's all I have until the other grill arrives. I think my wife is seeing a pattern here. One of anything I "collect" isn't enough. Lol
