Well, I DID! Not just any rocks, but a whole pile of old chiseled barn foundation rocks. I've been looking for these for a very long time (YEARS) and it seems like they're always either too far away to be cost-effective in getting or they are swiped up before I can even message the seller. Found this nice cache (two trailer loads worth) on FB Marketplace a week before Christmas and bought them for an unbelievable price. Its a 2hr round trip so I'm happy with that. I got the mini skidsteer hauled up today and hauled the first (and biggest) load out. I'm guessing there was close to 8,000lbs of stones on the trailer today. I'll go back tomorrow and get the 2nd load (and also squeeze the machine onto the trailer with the stones). These will go around the back of the garage to FINALLY finish up the last flowerbed that I've been stalling on for 10 years. Those of you who know Mrs. Overkill know she loves her planter beds......she was tickled that I found these stones and it was part of her Christmas gift! Lol!

.I'm hoping we get enough mild weather the next two months or so to have these stones all installed in place and the dirt in the beds so she can get to planting as soon as spring arrives....
One of the piles. Some bigguns in there!

That lil machine is a back saver! Had the trailer loaded up in no time, although the base layer of stones were frozen into the ground. Had to bust them loose.....

Homeward bound with the first load....the trailer is 14' × 7, 14k GVW

Definitely not the load(s) that yours was, and it wasn’t for Christmas, but during our remodel, she had the Brick Fireplace in the Family room refaced with stone

You might have figured out, I kinda Enjoy having the GrandDogter around, jus a little bit.

Emmy was still living at home when she got Willow, and I did make one mistake, I forgot to get a “Prepuptial Agreement” and she had some Silly Idea, that she got to take Her Dawg with her when she moved out

I was fortunate to get the last load of stones and my machine out of there today in one trip. The ground was still frozen solid, but they're calling for quite a bit of rain and very mild temps this coming weekend, and it's a low-lying spot where the stones were so it was gonna be way too wet to work there after today. I probably was close to being overloaded, but the trailer was balanced out pretty good (just a little heavy on the tongue). I normally wouldn't put the machine at the back of the trailer like that bit there was a chit-ton of weight at the front so it was ok in this instance. Being it's an hour each way I didn't want to have to make a third trip just to get the machine. It's all winding mountain back roads so I just took my time home. Top of the mountain was covered in ice, hard to see the pic but I was a little sketched going down that steep grade with around 14k pushing me....lol. made it home safe and sound, now I gotta organize these rocks til I can get started on the flower beds.....

All loaded up for the trek home.....

Believe it nor not she's pretty excited about these stones......she's a country girl to the core! I've been trying to get a nice load of these hand cut stones for quite a few years.

Thanks brother! I've built quite a few beds around the house already but these beds have evaded me for far too long. I'll do a thread on them when i get started. There's pics of the ones I built out back in my pizza oven build thread....

We've begun the big patio/pizza oven project!

Wife wanted new shed doors that opened out instead of in. Took a day but was able to make it happen, had to custom make the hinges.

    Thanks ( to you both).

I didn’t do either, the stonework around the wood stove was original to the house, but it was one of the things that really appealed to me, when we toured the house, that and having a Fireplace as well. The fireplace isn’t much on heating, they usually aren’t, but it does add a nice ambiance when we do burn in it

Willow is a Sweet girl (most of the time) an American Bulldog wouldn’t be my breed of choice, but when the Daughter brings this home, how do you say No?

She’s been Grandpaw’s girl from the beginning

About the only time I have to worry about her teeth, is when she needs s her nails trimmed, most gals Love getting their nails done, Not Willow, she literally has to be sedated. She gets absolutely violent about her feet being messed with, my Son in Law is a pretty burly guy, the Two of can’t manage her, to do her nails

Golden Retrievers are my breed of choice, but having a dog full time, doesn’t work for us right now. I sure miss that dawg, it’s closer to 30 years now, than 20, and I still miss “Barney”, total goofball, but a Heart Bigger than Texas

You obviously know enough about the TRX250R, to know that it is a 2 Stroke, ol Barney absolutely Loved riding the quad, I had an 8x16 high deck flatbed trailer that I hauled the toys on going to the dunes, he would recognize hooking up the trailer as a sign that we were going to go play in the sand.

What would trip him up though, is when I would fire up Ol Reliable, my 266XP, that he would come running, with that big goofy grin on his face, which would then turn to a look of confusion, when he didn’t see the quad.

I didn’t get too carried away, with Barney riding with me, but he was up to more than you would expect. With him riding in front of me, with my arms around him holding the handlebars, if he saw anything serious ahead, he would sit up, and push his back into my chest, and was actually pretty solidly seated.

The Lucky ones of us have had that one World’s Greatest Dog, Barney was mine, I have had many other Great dogs, Willow is a Close Second, but there will never be another “Barney”

Unfortunately, we didn’t have these cell phones with incredible cameras in our pockets 24/7 back then, and I did take him for granted some what, so I don’t have many pictures of him, those two were “Lost” pictures that I recently refound, needless to say, finding those put a Big Goofy Grin on my face that would have done Barney justice, I just don’t have that seemingly foot long tongue sticking out of my mouth

Sounds like she knows her cookware.
My Wife, though not currently active, is a Pampered Chef consultant, that Pampered Chef is Good Stuff.

A word from the wise, Don’t EVER, use the “Deep Covered Baker” on the Stove Top, it won’t end well, and we won’t talk about how I know that ;)

My Wife is Definitely a “Keeper “, she was active in Pampered Chef early in our marriage, I never asked what she did with the money she earned from it, I figured it was her “Fun Money “

One Day she walked up and said “I Know that you Miss having a Boat, Let’s go buy one”

It was hardly “New” when we got it, but it has given us many Great Memories
