Temp is 25° at this point. Temps will be rising the next couple of days, but it's going to be very windy. Like 40 mph gusts

77° in the stove room. Ash and box elder in the stove.

thermometer said 20, small fire with oak this morning so it has time to go out before I get home.
Need to clean out some ashes, it's been getting some good use this past week.

27 outside, up from the 21 it was a couple hours ago. I started the day with a quick burning load of cherry and sassafras, and just reloaded with 2 large splits of white oak with one piece of cherry on top. This should last a while :)

Our coldest morning so far, 24° when I left for work about 5:45AM. Loaded 2 BL splits on the bottom back, with white oak chunks on top, about 11PM last night. Woke up to a nice coal bed and 72° inside...added a split of beech and ash before I left. 20241204_050509.jpg

Today was our first slack off from the wind since it broke us out of the cold snap .
It blew 15 to around 60 for 5 days . Temps are up to +15°F ambient with a 5 to 10 knot breeze. Quite hospitable compared to the last 5 days .

Oh, firekilled White Spruce and Birch in the stove . House is around 82° inside. Bit too warm for me. But the wife loves it .
