Here is my next question... you have been gentleman so far, so laugh, but not out loud.

    I want a 20" bar. This 25" bar/chain is 3/8" pitch, .050" kerf.

I have some loops of 20" 3/8" pitch, 0.063" kerf.

Is the sprocket able to use different width kerfs as long as it is 3/8" pitch?

I've been around a couple of the MS400C saws here locally. Both had muffler mods and they were both very nice running saws. The one was a very early saw from when they first came out and it's cut a couple dozen cord of hardwood and the owner is very happy with it.

I would stick with 3/8 .50. In my experience it’s hard to find .63 in a brick and mortar. If you buy a .63 bar than you gotta stick with .63 gauge.

X2. The only 063 I run is on the 261 and I think the 026 & 028 have it as well.

Glad you got your saw I hope it serves you well.
3/8 .063 chain is more common for bars 36” and longer

Feel like the dealer could plug it in and check the software pretty quick at point of sale? Just a guess...dunknow much about the lectric carbs 'evolutions'.

Been a little while for me since a first fueling. Bullpen is full. Possibly have beaten CAD. (still have want for a 620P or 7310)

Have fun getting acquainted with the new beast!

Congrats, the MS400 and the MS462 are probably the only “new” saws I am interested in purchasing. I ran Brad’s ported 400 at Denny’s last year and Stayner’s ported 462 at Kevin’s last year as well. Both were equally impressive enough to make me want one of each ported of course.

i know this is a little older thread, this is definitely true about not having to charge msrp and lots don’t charge that but they must not advertise any price other than msrp because it’s to protect the larger dealers volume selling at a discount because they get a little better deal buying lots. If the big shops advertised a lower selling price it could hurt some small shops. But they are willing to deal on them and some will depending how often you shop there ect.

    That makes perfect sense.

Atlantic Firearms does this alot. They advertise the price the manufacturer demands, but when you add to cart, it is much lower many times.

How are you liking the saw Woodpusherpro? Is it up to your expectations?

For sure, I really like it.

I've read about ya'll saying how they gain power, and didn't notice anything first couple of tanks or so. Last couple I have really noticed it open up some. It zips through the big rounds quickly. The little 180 was capable, but sloooooow.

I was wondering if I should have gotten the 462, but I'm happy. If I really get into chainsaw milling, I'll get a big Chinese knockoff to torture.

Funny as when I had the funds to buy my 400, the guy backed out I ended up buying a 462. The guy changed his mind and I then bought the 400 a month later. I seldom used the 462 now.

my ported 400 is awesome, kind of disappointed that Stihl has to mess with it and a new lighter 400.1 but time will tell I guess
