What I'm referring to is the throttle you are controlling is actually just an idle throttle. You are changing your idle speed......from low idle to high. You can't put the engine at WOT, only your governor can do that when it senses load. If you were to override the governor and manually open the throttle on your carb to wide open with no load, the engine will be screaming until it scatters it's innards all over the place. I was just being a smart-a$$. It's a pet peeve of mine when people refer to the throttle on a small engine as being at WOT under no load. It's technically incorrect. Anyway, carry on. :D

Yes and no...the throttle plate is not wide open, but the throttle control lever is, so that's why the common reference...I bet if I say "what's your high idle speed" on any given forum, 98% would not answer the governed speed...but if I ask what's your WOT speed, 98% get it right (give the governed speed, which in this case would/should be 3600)

I agree, however, it doesn't make it correct just because most people think it is. :p However, for the sake of ease, I understand what you are saying.

Finally got around to replacing the return hose. Old one popped off one too many times. PaulB’s didn’t have the t-bolt style clamps small enough for this size so I just doubled up for now.

Ha! I thought it was pretty neat when I saw that. Had to make it visible. $8.99/ft for 3/4”, posting for future reference.

I know it's only a return line. Those hose clamps dont really do much on a wire braided hose. If anyone else needs return hydro line, fuel oil hose (any that is oil resistant and will take a little temperature) works great and will not have the wire in it. Being a return there is no need for the wire at low pressure and the wire means that you can't really clamp it down anyways...why pressure lines are always crimped or use screw on fittings. There is such a thing as low pressure hydraulic hose, but we didn't carry it because the fuel oil hose covers what it does anyways.

I have spent a little time behind the counter at a hose shop. I sortof remember some stuff.

My feed line to pump from tank is leaking. Trying to get my stuff together to convert to ATF and will address at that time. Thinking that I will magically find the ATF for $30/bucket has held me back a bit probably from getting it done.
