    It looks like your old pump was 16 gpm and your new one is 18.5 gpm

    So.. just elbow and mount the housing there;

    Seems the best option IMO. Only alternative would be to drill a hole and weld like this (thumbs down smiley here).

    The elbow looks like a good solution...and neck down to 1/2" after the elbow...you can do it however you want, but I'd use a 1/2"-3/4" bell reducer, instead of a 1/2"-3/4" bushing...

    I actually ran to TSC tonight and bought a reducer, an elbow and a piece of straight. Ended up getting the wrong size. :picard: They didn’t have the barbed hose adapter. One size off so might be waiting on that :ups:, unless I can find one tomorrow. Should be able to find an elbow that will adapt them…

    Oh, and one is $40 the other is $45. Worth the difference?

    Yeah I had to order the barbed fittings too.
    The AW is what they recommended for the pump I got...

    Just make sure the pipe going into the tank extends well below the top of the fluid or it will make bubbles and foam, causing more trouble.

    Thicker fluid will make the pump work harder and cause more heat/back pressure.

    Thanks for the info. I'll double check mine just for piece of mind.

    Ordered the fittings, new filter and 3' of hose for the feed side. Return hose will be reused.

    Those are both rated SAE20.

    Exactly. That's why I put my tank up high on the back of the splitter. I get at least 1 psi feed pressure that way. I set it up to swirl in the tank so the hot fluid coming in gets spread across the side of the tank for cooling and the swirl helps feed the suction line. Any air gets pushed to the center and out of the fluid. I used a propane tank (about 5 gal capacity) for my reservoir, which is a bit bigger than I should have, but it was readily available. It doesn't spin as fast as it would with a smaller reservoir (1.5-2 gallons), but it still works and it gives plenty of cooling area. I can put my hand on the tank after running it for hours. Max temp recorded so far is 140° after running non stop with the 4 way, and it cools down quickly, even while running.

    The ones that surprise me are the ones that come from the factory with the pump mounted a good bit higher than the suction port...like as in at, or even maybe slightly above the oil level, even when its full! Poor design practice...

    Is that a 1" x 1" barbed fitting?

    Made me go out and test fit. The package numbers are misleading.
