What's on your bench now?

I fiiiiinally got around to assembling the 365/72 today. The oem p&c showed up a while back with a broken ring and after arguing with the seller they issued me a refund and told me to keep it. I ordered a set of caber rings and slapped it together this morning.

 

My old Makita XDT13s just had the variable speed trigger great impacts but not really suited for engine work
So I bought a couple of the XWT12s 3/8 impacts with adjustable tightening and loosening modes.
They are only 50.00 on amazon for some reason
And 182.00 at home depot?
I bought a 3/8 square to 1/4 hex adapter works perfectly for using bits
I've been fixing a lot of lawnmowers lately

 

My 8 year old 99.00 harbor freight pump finally stopped working
I actually bought two of these because I didn't know they would last
Bit I used it as my only water source all these years

Cost me .99 cents to fix it and I went ahead and put a new pressure switch on it.

 

The squish was really high on the 365/72 so I pulled the base gasket and gave it a thin coat of motoseal. Squish is .026 now and she's blowing 150psi. Also slapped on the ported muffler and she sounds much better now .

 

Taking this old girl down to its last fastener and replacing all gaskets, O-rings and seals. Might get some internal performance work while I'm in there as well as an electronic ignition chip. These are my favorite old Homelite saws.

 

Nice work. You should sell the 241 to me to make room in your fleet for it. Havent BYB about it in a while.

I sold the 241 to a neighbor. I was released by the doctor and psychical therapist a couple weeks ago.

My local fire department was throwing this away
I think it's a 1982
The fuel line melted after setting 20+ year's and I don't have any McCullough engine parts
So i modified a Husqvarna 288 carb diaphragm and a stihl ms290 fuel line to get it running I have new parts on order.
I do have 3 McCullough 20" bar's and 5 new chains I was given.
I haven't run one of these since 1984 or 1985 my neighbor had one.

 

My new fuel line and carb kit came in
I put a new 20" bar and chain on it and tuned it in wood

 

Not liking this series at all almost new 600.00 saw with a fried clutch
I replaced the clutch and tried it out
That's a lot of weight for 3 1/2 or so pounds
I weighed a few saws all full of fuel and oil the 460 and Mac have 20" laminate bar's the 266 a 24" solid bar

The Mac is stronger than the 460
The 266 stomps them both in torque and power.

 

Working on a Honda 400 foreman the guy had a aftermarket big bore kit on it the wrist pin wore away and sounded like rod knock the oem cylinder is fine so I'm putting a new piston in it.
I had to put a oil sending unit in my Chevy that's the second one in three year's

 

Trying to get a 562xp finished up that has been on the back burner for too long. This is a Duke’s cylinder that I cut the squish band on and ported.

 

Sorry no photos but I wanted to share my repair story. A few weeks ago my Husqvarna 450 (2014 model with 18" bar) stopped working. I figured out it had no spark. I also had recent noticed one of the carb mounting screws never really got tight. I purchased a new ignition module ( I call it a coil), spark plug and a carburetor mounting flange. Took it apart, installed the new parts and it started right up. Runs good now. In the time that I have owned it I have cut a lot of wood, dropped number of trees with it and sawed them up. It has been a good saw for what I use it for. Here is a not workbench photo at our son and daughter in-law's place where I used it last fall.

 

Tore this supposedly 68cc zenoah clone down
It's actually 58cc
It only had a 1/2 inch opening into the muffler so I cut that out
And opened up the intake and exhaust
It flows good now

It's as strong as any homeowner 60s cc
Saw like the 455/460 290/310
It'll make a good firewood saw
It's quite light for it's size
I was blocking 18-20" hardwood all day with it.
