Thanks for your kind words guys! Ms. buZZsaw asks me last night. "dont you ever get tired of firewood"? We just celebrated 15 year anniversary. (send her a sympathy card please!)
If i had a steady source for it yes, but i literally have to hunt it down. "Fortunately" Isaias and the tornado August 2020 put a lot of BL on the ground. Cutting a load today.
Got a text from a BL regular last week. He wants another cord. Thats great as i have a cord dry and ready that is "in the way" at my BL storage right down the street. Want racks empty for fresh inventory. Got first load earlier ready for tomorrow. Mostly bark on. Second load will be barkless. I can store five cords there and need roughly two to refill. Maybe a cord of fresh splits to stack and a couple cords of rounds there.
Dropped the second load yesterday. All barkless. Forgot to take pics. I went up $20 for a cord which they had no complaints. Not sure what ill charge regulars in the Fall him included. Racks completely empty and after some repairs/maintenance fresh splits will start filling them back up this week.
Moved what splits i have to here and stacked this week. PITA but is what it is. Far stack mostly green w/bark on for 2023 season. Finished stacks will be 6'8"x 12' so five cord total when full. About two cords of rounds there to be split. Other wood/junk there not mine.
Sold my first 2022-23 BL today. Repeat customer. Last time he tells me he takes the 16" long splits and cuts them in half! Turns out he likes to load N/S with shorties rather than E/W with longs. To each his own. Ive been keeping BL nuggets/cookies separate from other species and sold him a cord of them today. He was very happy and so was i. Todays half cord load...mostly barkless. Second load going tomorrow.
That's great, a win-win for you both. We took the restaurant a load of oak chunks earlier this year when that was the only seasoned oak we had.
Well second load got rained out and with the wet weather i delayed delivering as i have to back over his yard.
Well one of my "first timers" from last year is now a regular. Same gentleman from this thread. Nice to Meet a Burner Who Speaks the Language. Went up on price and delivery fee (he was half hour one way) and he had no qualms about it. He has a nice wooded lot and makes some of his own firewood. Other half cord to go this week. Nice to have a customer who is knowledgable and appreciates my product.
That's some nice clean firewood and a good load too. That's the way to get repeat customers. Nice job, my friend
This guy was nearly half hour one way and had to make two trips. Charged $65 extra. He didnt complain and they tipped me too. Comped him with a bundle of cedar kindling.
Got a text from a first time BL customer last year and ill quote "Hi Brad. Do you have BL firewood for sale? It's the best ive ever had." I sold him a cord of bark on last February He wants to buy three cords! Working out the details now.
This is why you to need to cut cut cut. I love repeat customers. They know you have great firewood and this produces a steady source of Benjamins.
