Dyno tested........Ported 461 vs stock 461

I gotta have one.......I mean.....I just have to.

 

Either 40 or 50lbs isn't too bad to handle.

I hate lugging around concrete. The usual ones I've bought are 80lbs. Once Lowe's was out of the metal carts so I put a couple sacks in a regular plastic cart. The bottom blew out of it.

 

Burnt five gallons of 92 e free mix since may on dyno runs.

 

About how many saws have you tested?

 

If I counted right around eighteen. I've run half of that fuel through a brand new 660 I'm doing part testing on.

 

Have you tested Ron's 660 yet?

 

I'd like to do some fuel useage tests soon. Do you guys think a chainsaw carb would have enough suction to pull fuel through an extended hose that goes out the fuel cap hole and into a measuring container?

 

Just put the container above the saw.

 

Not yet. Had to watch the kids last night. I want to do lots if testing this coming extended weekend.

If you have a look at: http://www.scientificsonline.com/ under lab equipment, you will find what you need. A hanging beaker with hose attached already graduated in ml. This way you can hang it above the saw and connect the carb directly to it, take a reading before run and after.

You can get away cheaper by using a graduated 2-stroke 1qt oil bottle and cap and a brass hose barb from the hardware store.

 

I'm curious to see the octane tests (110 vs 92). That 110 smells good burning and has a purple tint color. "Purple haze vs Pump gas"!

 

Kinda boring. I was expecting different.

 

What was you expecting?

 

Mixed. My hunch was saying the 110 would have done worse but Ronn thought it did better.

 

Do you think there might be bigger difference on a stock 660?
