Knowing the feeling of putting up tall, long stacks of firewood, and knowing what it feels like to produce large slabs of wood with a CSM, I think I may know a little bit of what it feels like to produce that pic. It is simply awesome! Thanks for sharing.

    I love beef!:D
Wifey's birthday today. I'm chaperoning her down in the wild blueberries. She's had an exciting bear incident here before.
Probably little sawmill building work today.

I guess if you can blame a gun...
I can blame my pencil
My birds mouth (proposed) cut didn't work out. Stupid pencil.
Glad that I hefted that heavy sucker up there to check it before I cut all 31 of them.
I need to investigate a little more but I think I'll be cutting a 2 1/2 × 8 to lay on top. My other choice is just blocking them up with a 12" 2x6 vertically avoiding a bunch of cutting for the birdsmouth.

I sawed some store sized 2x4's for the purlins. Feels like a 1x3.

It's nice to be able to use a regular sized framing gun and nails.

It's a nice space and I'm glad that I'm sticking to my plans. I've been a little bored with this project for a while, now going on it's 2nd summer. Getting close to the finish line.

No, we are not bored. It is fascinating watch everyone build something just a little different than anywhere else.

This build is certainly "different" with my various material scrounges.:D
I'm going to be under $7 - s/f so my Johnny Cash "one piece at a time" thing is working out.
I can add in the cost of the sawmill and still be on the cheap.

I'll have to make this decision very soon, that's next.
I was thinking about the clear or even metal because of the splash factor of rain bouncing off the metal roof, (excessively wetting the wood that never sees direct sunlight) but in my slowness of getting the roof on I haven't witnessed any of this areas (wood/framing) getting soaked or even wet. The gable overhang is about 20" and not far away vertically.
Wood, inexpensive but a bit more labor on the roof.
Clear polycarbonate sheets, I'll need to order this and they come in 8' - 10' and maybe 12' lengths and I'll need to figure out the best lengths to eliminate a lot of waist.
Metal, again I need to put a cut to length order together and both of these materials are pretty high priced right now.
    I'll surprise you.
