That would buy a butload of single tower coils !! In the future if you need something purchased and shipped I would or others here probably can help you out.

    Thank you !
Ignorance on my part is expensive.
I gotta figure out what to do about this job I have. It uses up about all the work time and energy I have. And doesn't bring in as much money as I need it to.
If I had the time and thinking ability to come up with something like that it would have been a better solution no doubt.
But just getting the mill back up and running will be awesome.
Not being naturally gifted with a fixer/mechanic brain. And not having any time to fix things Really gets me.

The ones available on E Bay were in the 34 to 37 dollar price range.

Do you have NAPA, or some other auto parts chain there? Should be able to access much of this kind of stuff there...

The part was $309. At NAPA if they could get it.

But they would have the single tower coils that Screwloose was talking about...and those are relatively cheap...they probably even stock some...

    Ya, I have no idea.
When it comes to mechanic stuff I'm pretty useless. Other than pro saws. I can fix and rebuild those.

You can certainly retrofit your engine with 2 single coils then...this is really a very simple procedure...right Screwloose ?

Biggest reason I don't go out and buy an old farm tractor. It would have to be mechaniced.
New only needs maintenance. I can handle that

Until the warranty runs out and your wind up with a MUCH more complicated machine to diagnose.
Get a old tractor and you can stuff all the wiring in your pocket, a new one and I sure hope you're not color blind. Ever have to mess with finding out what bulb shut down the Xmas lights ? Nothing stomps simplicity like emissions equipment. Better stock extra PLASTIC doodads and such for the -200°f weather you have. Try lighting a fire under a frozen new tractor and watch it melt, put a pan of charcoal under a older one and go have a coffee.
My best advice is to buy 2 identical older tractors and when one breaks down use the other and when you have time start swapping parts and comparing voltages ect. until you find the issue.
Still be less money than new and simpler than rebuilding a pro saw.

Mine takes the old-fashioned round coil.
I didn't think to try Amazon.

But, it's the HAVING TO WORK ON IT. As opposed to WORK IT.
Put a tarp over it and a generator and a ready heater under the tarp . Plug in the block heaters and pad heaters. Which are all plugged into a 4 gang steel electrical box that is mounted under the hood someplace and has a 12 ga Polar Solar cord sticking out someplace. In about 2 hours it will be nice and warm. Nothin melted. Fire it right up.
    That I'm good at !!
The really Cool old-timers use a surplus parachute instead of a tarp.

Coil shape means nothing as to the function.

    I'm Baaacckkk

Can anyone tell me if the wire from the ignition goes to the + or - terminal on the coil on this 17 horse Kohler . ? Also, do both the condenser wire and the small wire from the other side of the coil go on the same machine screw on the points. ????
Thank you Very Much in advance.

That's how I have it hooked up.
I set the gap at 20 thousands . Cleaned the points contacts with a dollar bill.
Still no spark at the plugs. :faint::hair:

It would be Cool if I could easily install the 550 Arctic Cat engine from my snogo ( snowmobile) onto the mill !
That would saw some logs !
