The wire looked like it was still in the connector but was not making contact. Gave a little pull and it came right out. I stripped it and jammed it into the connector and the fuel pump came on with the key and it fired right up.

Ford forums had somebody with the same problem. Good thing i did not load the parts cannon. Now to get it fixed more permanently.

Got myself a 48" hi-lift jack, I've heard they can be very dangerous but also very useful, I don't have any plans to lift the pick up etc. just start on small stuff and learn to use it[IMG]

It would make sense to have everyone use snow and ice tires again, like we did in the old days. They brine before almost every winter storm even if it turns out to be mostly rain. They used to sand our roads and we had no problem getting around. Plus, we were surrounded by reservoirs and the runoff cant be good for drinking water.

Congrats. I've been using those for almost 40 years and never had an injury. They're like any other tool, just use common sense. The most common ways I see people getting injured are overestimating the tipping/slipping factor when using it to lift a vehicle (not really designed to be a bumper jack so use caution) and people getting whacked in the head when lowering the jack (the lever will come flying up very quickly when under a load if you don't hang onto it). Countless uses for them.

Standing directly behind them led to the reintroduction of the castrati singer.

Yup. Getting 'whacked in the head' by the handle can cover two different parts of the male anatomy.

I've had one fir years. Only thing I kept when I sold the last modded Jeep. They are dangerous when letting them down as the handle wants to fly up and clobber you about the noggin. Being aware of that little personality trait should keep you safe. From that anyway. They also have a base you can set it on for soft ground. I have that too.

Somehow a spring clip failed while going up a gnarly section of trail and the driver's side front spring popped out. Used a combo of the hi-lift and the winch to lift up the driver's side front and had the spring back in in no time. Felt like a NASCAR pit stop.
