Bark has a mulberry look to it, but as stated you done good either way. The heartwood will gradually turn to a darker reddish brown. Not familiar with how osage weathers over time. Mulberry rare score for me and would love to get more. Nice grab RB!

The charts say 12 months but I like to give it 2 years or 30-50 whatever is most convenient.

I have been curious as to how that sapling was coming along. Looks good.

There appears to be another one coming also.

How many seeds did you put in there ?

I put 3 seeds in there if I remember right. Only the one came up though. That other little sprout is actually a date palm from a medjool date pit I put in for the heck of it. Once it warms up I’ll have to transition the Osage outdoors and keep the palm as a houseplant.

When green hedge ( Osage orange ) will be yellow in color , as it seasons it will turn a rich reddish brown. I have been cutting on a fence row last couple of weeks , all hedge probably four or five cord. That is mulberry in the picture first cousin to hedge. Good wood ya will want to save that for them real cold nights. Mix it with something else cause it will burn bout like coal.

Mulberry is the same way. Cuts yellow, seasons to what Scotty calls chocolate.

    Mulberry?

Those pics were taken from that thread that I linked, so not mine. Boogeyman stated exactly 2 weeks.
