To me, It looks like there was a weight issue up front ahead of the trailer pin coupling. Rivet fatigue, many years of flexing and floor issues payed into the demise on that thing. You can see some of the metal is Torn downward and others where the rivets are completely gone. Corrosion and metal fatigue there in my opinion. I've seen this on ships, many times!
Nail bender buddy that I trade labor with just called saying his truck died going down the road. Pos Chevy that should have been replaced years ago…anyhoo said it would crank not start. My first thought is the fuel pump quit. Told him to crawl under and wack the tank a few times Hail Mary but works sometimes. He called back and said when I bang on the take it sounds hollow. That’s because your out of gas silly! He said the idiot light didn’t come on. Lol. Dude drives around with it on so much the bulb burnt out! He is going to hear about this for a while!
Getting the vehicles off the ground is easy compared to myself getting off the ground after setting the jack or laying on the creeper JB
I have noticed that gravity has increased 10 fold over the last few years. The floor has gotten further away also. Then there is this ? that puts tools away where i can't find them ( mostly in plain sight). Have you noticed that 8mm sockets are very similar to 10mm sockets in that they magically vanish?
I do believe I have noticed the same thing happening must have something to do with climate change I am sure that it has nothing to do with getting older because I am only 30years and 360 months oldJB
Warner may sound like a strange question but are those lifts capable of being used outside ? I am considering getting one but I have to put outside as I do not have a high ceiling in my shop and I was going to just put a overhang over it JB
I wish I could say nothing but a customer came in last night complaining his saw had been running good then it stalled and would just start than stop right away I opened the fuel cap and it was empty I put fuel in it and it ran fine his exact words were I THOUGHT IT HAD FUEL IN IT BUT I DID NOT CHECK!! JB
I have often thought about pouring a pad and just put a lift out in the open. I have seen them set up like that. I would be concerned about corrosion. But, if it’s undercover I would think you would be ok. I’m fairly comfortable using the “rules” loosely. But, it will be holding a vehicle over your head so it might be best to consult a pro installer. Outdoor Car Lifts: Can You Do It? : Eagle Equipment
I talked to the one rep and the specs are pretty straight forward about the pad specs and I always lean to the overbuilt anyway the one I was looking at was @4000.00 10000# lift but they did not recommend it for outside install electrics were not weathertite but their tech rep said if I was to cover with a overhang it would be ok but I was just curious it is a next year project JB
