And it exploded. Scared me when it cracked and I ran but it made for a lot less saw work cleaning up.
Not for me. A few friends and myself went up north Michigan to Newberry area and visited another friend. He has a saw mill that he wants to make lumber with and so the base was still fairly solid and straight. He will be making boards out of that part of the tree and the top half will be burned.
The story goes that a meteorite hit and killed the tree which is total BS and hilarious so I offered to take it down and he said GO FOR IT!
Dead standing can make a mess and do all manner of unexpected things. I like the wood as it can be ready to burn, but not the cutting them down so much. I've put off getting some down that I've wished I had worked sooner when I finally got to them.
I was to busy trying not to get killed smacked by a tree. It was about 2 times wader than the bar on that saw of his.
What did ya cut that toothpick with, a 14" Wild Thangy? By the sounds of the crackling noises that tree was a little past dead lol. Nice drop though.
Ms291 with a 24” bar lol his saw setup I didn’t bring mine I wasn’t expecting to do any cutting. Shoulda known better she wasn’t gearthy but she was tall!
Wow I would have kept running another 100 yards after hearing that crack! I've only felled little itty bitty trees and I still get out of dodge!
