Equipment trailer help

    Trailer lights came on when plugged in...unplugged and squirted some dielectric grease in and replaced, now no lights. Truck fuses look good. Any help is appreciated.

    in my old Ford E150 van it was the outlet plug on the van itself would cause that. I would replace it. It would last 2-3 yrs then it would go out again. Even had rv dealers and auto mechanics replace it and it would still only last a few years. Thats the only vehicle I ever had trouble with the trailer lights/brakes on

    Maybe one of the contacts moved when you unplugged it and now isn't making contact? Also, check the ground.

    Well, the electric died, isn't that the objective?

    Hope it's just a loose wire or ground.. wiggle things to see if that's the case.

    Like mentioned, if they all quit it’s likely the ground. Believe it’s the white wire.



    No offense meant to any black, or red,,,,or yeller wires

    We used to tow my ski boat with the 4runner and it's 7 pin harness. When I got my truck, 2 yrs ago I tried using that same 7 pin harness that is verified to work. It worked on the chevy 2500, the explorer, the grand cherokee, and the 4runner. Tried to use that harness on my truck, and no dice. Plugs in fine as it's supposed to, but no electrical connection. Tried a different 7 pin harness, and it works for on my truck. Sometimes things are weird like that.

    Thanks, I will check the ground... I do have a voltmeter and a dummy light tester, I am much more versed with the dummy light.

    Worse come to worse I will strap brenndatomu down on the back of the trailer and he can give hand signals when we turn!!
